Terms and Conditions of Submissions:
Eligibility: Any artist over 18 years of age is eligible to make a submission to the "Artist's Eye on Galway." The call is open to artists from anywhere in the world. Participants of the open call can be of any nationality, and from any stage in their career
Deadlines: Submissions are open from the 20th September 2021, until 11:59 pm 31st January 2022. Accepted artists will be notified by 15th February 2022, and artists accepted to exhibit at the launch will be notified by 30th March 2022 with instructions for delivery of their works.
Accepted MEDIUMS: Traditional and contemporary forms of painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, illustration, digital art, + mixed media. All submissions must be sent in one of the following formats: .jpg / .png / .tiff and each file is not to exceed 2MB, so that a maximum submission would amount to 5 images totalling 10MB collectively. Each image file should be labelled as such: ARTISTNAME_TITLE.jpg/.png/.tiff. Artists will then be requested to send high-resolution files if accepted.
Unaccepted Mediums: Video, Photography, and 3D art will not be accepted.
Theme of submissions: We are asking that the theme of your artwork reflect well-known scenes from Galway city or county. This includes, but is not limited to, streets, buildings, landmarks, parks, well-known scenery etc.
License: These art submissions will also be entered with consideration for the publication’s cover art. If your work is accepted, you will need to sign a publishing agreement granting us non-exclusive rights to publish your work, which may also be used online for promotional and/or advertisement purposes, as well as printed in our publication, "Artist's Eye on Galway." You will retain copyrights for your work.
There is an entry fee of €25. This fee entitles the applicant to submit up to 5 different artworks. There is no further fee for inclusion of the accepted artworks in the publication.
Sale of Artworks: Artworks will not be listed for sale in the publication. Your details will be included along with your artwork if you are accepted so that interested parties may contact you directly via the details you provide. If your artwork is chosen to be included in the launching exhibition, it may be listed for sale, but it is not required to do so. There will be a 20% commission fee on any work sold during the exhibition, so please keep this in mind when pricing your artwork if you are selected for this event. Any monies due from work sold during the exhibition will be paid to the artist (less outstanding commission fees) within 7 days of the close of the exhibition via bank transfer or Paypal, at the artist's preference.
